Sedgman Metals Operations Project History

Current Project Detail

Agnew

Agnew

Western Australia, Australia

Sedgman Metals Operations(PAC-RIM) commenced operations at Agnew in August 1997, and were initially contracted for a 3 year term. PAC-RIM has been supplying crushing and screening services to the Agnew Gold Mine continuously now for almost 11 years.

The facility consists of a 3 stage crushing plant producing 125,000 tonnes per month.

Sedgman Metals Operations(PAC-RIM) have had a long history of providing services to this project, from the very early stages of the operation we provided construction materials and a primary crushing station for mill feed until the underground crushing station and hoist were completed and commissioned.

In addition, we have been providing ore haulage services to this operation since July 2001 and are currently contacted to continue this service through to July 2013.

In June 2005 BHP Billiton awarded our company a further 4 year contract to supply a ROM Management and an Ore Crushing Facility producing 120,000 Tonnes Per Month.

Sedgman Metals Operations(PAC-RIM) provides a crushing and screening facility which produces up to 70,000 tonnes per month of stemming and roadbase materials for blast hole fill and haul road surfacing.

The recent worldwide tyre shortages highlighted the need to reduce tyre wear and the production of roadbase materials from mine waste has significantly reduced these costs for the client.

Once again, Sedgman Metals Operations(PAC-RIM) has had a long association with this operation having completed a number of small contracts in the early stages of mine construction.

Then in September 2001 we were awarded a 9 year contract term to provide a 3-stage crushing and screening facility with a throughput requirement of 160,000 tonnes per month.

Mt Isa

In July 2006, Sedgman Metals Operations(PAC-RIM) was awarded a 5-year contract term to supply two separate crushing facilities for Xstrata's Mt Isa Operations:

  • Blackstar Open Cut (BSOC) Primary Crushing Circuit
  • George Fisher (GF) Fine Crushing Circuit

In addition to these two facilities, Sedgman was contracted to design, construct and commission an Independent Overland Conveyor to feed Xstrata's Heavy Media Plant (HMP). Once this conveyor was completed, ownership transferred to Xstrata, with PAC-RIM contracted to provide ongoing maintenance of the Independent Ore Feed System. Sedgman's facilities produce 6 million tonne per annum throughput. In addition, we have carried out a number of small parcels of crushing and screening trials at this site for the client.
