Sedgman Metals Engineering Studies
Sedgman metals engineering has completed and continues to execute a large number of feasibility studies. These range from pre-feasibility or scoping studies through to fully bankable feasibility studies incorporating input from a wide range of consultants.
Woodlawn Cu/Pb/Zn Project, NSW, Australia
Bankable Feasibility Study for a complex Cu/Pb/Zn flotation plant treating 350 kt/a fresh rock and 1.5 Mt/a recovered tailings. Completed in early 2008, followed by a series of optimisation studies.
San Bartolome Tin Project, Bolivia
Engineering Scoping Study leveraging Sedgman Metals' extensive gravity processing experience on a 1.4 Mta tin recovery plant. The tin plant will add to Coeur's existing San Bartolome silver recovery plant in Bolivia. The study is expected to be complete in September 2008.
Mbalam Iron Ore Project, Cameroon
Scoping study and metallurgical testwork for production of 35 Mt/a of iron ore. The deposit includes a hematite cap over a large itabirite resource. The process is likely to involve crushing, HPGR, ball milling, reverse flotation and product handling including a 490 km slurry pipeline to the coast. The study is ongoing.
Baal Gammon Copper Project, Queensland, Australia
Feasibility study for a 500 kt/a Cu flotation plant and associated infrastructure. Completed in 2008.
Hassai Gold Project, Sudan
Preliminary study on a brownfields project to retreat heap leach residue and fresh ore at a combined rate of 2 Mt/a. The study is expected to be complete in 2008.
Siana Gold Project, Philippines
Bankable Feasibility Study for a 750 kt/a gold CIL plant and associated infrastructure. Completed in 2007 and currently undergoing optimisation studies.
Cannington Silver / Lead / Zinc Expansion Study, Queensland, Australia
Selection Study, including a review of processing and engineering options, for the expansion of BHP Billiton Ltd's Cannington Mine. The study incorporates the complete process from ROM crushing through to concentrate load-out and integrates the BHP Billiton HSEC, reliability and maintainability requirements to provide a complete solution from both an operations and project delivery perspective. The study is expected to be completed in 3rd quarter 2008.
Martabe Au / Ag Project, Sumatra, Indonesia
Bankable Feasibility Study for a 4.5 Mt/a gold and silver processing plant in Sumatra. The scope also included infrastructure and port facilities. Completed in 2007.
Frontier Copper Project, Democratic Republic of Congo
Detailed feasibility study for an 8 Mt/a copper flotation plant including crushing, grinding, flotation and concentrate handling. Completed in February 2007.
Phu Bia Gold Project, Laos
Bankable feasibility study for 2 Mt/a gold heap leach project. Sedgman Metals Engineering integrated all aspects of the study including geology, mining, environmental in cooperation with the client. Completed in 2004.
Svartliden Gold Project, Sweden
Definitive feasibility study for a 300 kt/a CIL plant with cyanide and arsenic detoxifi cation in sub arctic conditions. Sedgman Metals Engineering were subsequently engaged to assist in the completion of construction and the commissioning of the facility. Completed in 2001.
