HSE Strategy

The objective of Sedgman's HSE strategy is to achieve continual improvement in the company's HSE performance. The strategy consists of three components. The first is to ensure the company maintains a sound HSE foundation. Standards, auditing, reporting, incident management, risk management and workers compensation & rehabilitation form the basis of this foundation. The second component is to manage any medium term risks and opportunities. The third is to manage for the long term. This involves ensuring that the company's long term HSE strategy supports Sedgman in achieving its business strategy.

Each part of the business has a HSE action plan. The plans detail how the relevant part of the business will implement the HSE strategy.

Management System

Sedgman's safety management system enables the creation of a project safety management plan (PSMP) for each Sedgman site. Each PSMP is tailored to the requirements of the client and site.

The PSMP specifies roles and responsibilities for safety, statutory and site specific systems, standards, procedures, training, reporting and review requirements essential for effective safety management.
