Movember
Movember (the month formally known as November) is a charity event held during each November that aims to raise funds for male health issues including prostate cancer, male depression and testicular cancer. Sedgman and its employees contribute generously to this charity.
Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA)
The Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA), a partnership between the Queensland Government, the Queensland Resources Council (QRC), and training and academic providers, is designed to encourage students to enter careers in the minerals and energy sector.

Central Queensland Helicopter Rescue Service
The Central Queensland Helicopter Rescue Service (CQ Rescue) plays a vital role in the community by providing rapid medical assistance to those in need in the hope of reducing the likelihood of permanent impairment. It was established in 1994 when a group of people decided there was a need for a Mackay based helicopter rescue service. Three air crewmen and three pilots are on-call 24 hours a day to attend to tasks usually within a 300km radius from Mackay.
